Metronet stands above other so called independent carriers in that it has the capacity to deliver last mile connectivity without reliance upon any third party (e.g. BT) and yet has the capacity to integrate ADSL/SDSL circuits, traditional fibre or copper leased lines into a homogenous integrated private network (for optimum resilience and to extend communications beyond its core coverage areas).

IP VPN

With Metronet you can build your own private MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) VPN over a secure independent managed infrastructure (your data does not have to traverse the public internet/third party networks) delivered to a 99.95% Service Level Agreement.

Native MPLS support (with traffic prioritisation for mission critical applications) gives you a future proof platform for the convergence of voice, video and data networks.

Metronet's Metro Ethernet coverage and MPLS capability extends throughout the entire Metronet network and includes ADSL/ADSL2+/SDSL and Leased Line interconnects. With Metronet you have the opportunity to abandon separate networks for different applications under a single framework using your own private IP addressing scheme.

Your Metronet MPLS VPN affords you the opportunity to consolidate your Internet traffic through a single ingress/egress connection; simplifying network design and administration, improving control and reducing the cost associated with multiple on-site firewalls that might otherwise be necessary. QinQ

Metronet's core network infrastructure empowers you to partition multiple VLANs across Metronet's core network. Metronet's own dark fibre core combined with its dark fibre connections into the North West's data centres makes it the most cost effective QinQ infrastructure in the UK.

Even if you don't subscribe to Metronet's last mile delivery circuits, you can still take advantage of Metronet's infrastructure to inter-connect between data centres.

IP Transit

Metronet is a tier 2 provider with a fully resilient multi-homed network. Metronet has multiple connections to tier 1 providers and tier 2 providers allowing it to deliver independent IP transit.

Metronet owns and is responsible for its core network and last mile delivery circuits making it the only network operator capable of delivering Tier 1 services at a price that is within reach of SMEs inside its areas of coverage.

Further, Metronet does not demand a contractual minimum commitment that is beyond the reach of SME Organisations.
