Metronet was incorporated in late 2003 to provide an independent alternative to SDSL and wire-based leased line (private circuit) services that represent superb value without compromising quality of service.
Metronet has continuously redesigned and added equipment and facilities to make its network the most resilient communications option for Organisations requiring IP related services throughout an area originally demarcated by the M60. Over time, the network’s reach has extended beyond the Greater Manchester Metropolitan area and outlying boroughs.
January 2007 marked the launch of Metronet services in Liverpool and plans are in place to launch services in other Cities throughout the UK and Ireland.
The Metronet network is a pure IP-based wireless broadband network providing industry standard wireless internet connectivity for Customers anywhere within its areas of coverage. As a member of MaNAP and RIPE, working in partnership with TeleCity (Kilburn House and Williams House), IFL (Reynolds House) and NWIX, Metronet provides a ubiquitous gateway to other networks, ISPs, and the Internet.
