Early Adopters
Early adopters of the network include:
- N2 Check, which required connectivity inside 24 hours (which was achieved by Manchester
Metronet) to support Voice Over IP (VOIP) communications for an entire office. N2 Check
provides credit check and company report information.
- Harvest Housing, a group of housing associations, which realised a need to upgrade
its high speed Internet access circuit from 1Mbps only to discover that Metronet was able
to supply a 10Mbps at a fraction of the price of a BT LES 10 service.
- Kelvin Graphics, a design and marketing company, that relies upon Metronet to exchange
very large files with its customers via email and FTP.
- Having been let down by the incumbent provider when moving offices, One Day Mobile took
delivery of a Metronet private circuit within 24 hours of order, upon which it now depends
to support all of its web-based business transactions.
- Internet and Telco service provider, Comgate has a 15Mbps high speed Internet access
service from Metronet which it uses to support the Company’s mission critical VOIP Gateway
service.
- Radisson SAS Hotel (Manchester Airport) that uses Metronet to provide Wi-Fi Internet
access for its guests, corporate communications, video conferencing.
- Workspace Innovation that uses Metronet to provide high speed Internet access services
to up to 50 business tenants at its Broadstone Mill business accommodation centre
in Stockport.
- The Opal Property Group uses a number of Metronet point-to-point private circuits to
provide inter-branch connectivity to its central Manchester headquarters.
